Zelensky’s Attire

President Volodymyr Zelensky’s attire, when he visited the White House, was in question the minute he stepped out of the limousine. President Donald Trump said “you dressed up” to Volodymyr. Volodymyr looked down at his clothes and said “yes.” He was dressed all in black, a reporter said he looked like he was wearing his pajamas. I normally see him in news reports wearing camouflage. I assumed it was because he was making a statement that he was at war, meaning him and his country. Later a news reporter asked him if he owned a suit. Volodymyr looking obviously disturbed said “when the war is over then I will wear the costume.”

Costume? Isn’t it interesting how important what we put on can make such a significant event like a meeting with the President of the United States be minimized by what we wear?

I have worn western clothes for as long as I can remember. Being from Texas and living most of my life in Oklahoma you would think that it is most tolerated here. But it’s not. I can’t tell you the sneers I have seen over the years. My mother in law for one until I told her my cowgirl boots cost more than her shoes. She went shopping for a gift for me at the western store and was surprised at the cost of the clothes as well.

I was in a 5K with a friend and she was noticing what other runners were wearing. Some of the attire was for efficiency but for the most part it was by choice, comfortability or even style you might say. She spoke up and said “why is it that in a certain religion, the husband wears normal clothes and the wife wears old timey clothes? I said “I don’t know, encouraging submission on the wife’s side maybe?”

All clothing is fashion, at some time or another someone designed it, someone liked it and chose to wear it, others saw it and followed suit. I think if it were up to God, we would all still be naked. We came into this world naked! I am thankful for clothes especially in the winter time but to not know we need them, that would be freedom!

Genesis 3:10-11

“He (Adam) answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.” And he (God) said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?””
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭3‬:‭10‬-‭11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

By the way God was the first designer, even though Adam and Eve were disobedient God provided for them.

Genesis 3:21

“The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭3‬:‭21‬ ‭NIV‬‬

In August of 2019 Outskirts Press published my first book. I never thought I would be an author, I am not an avid reader or writer but when you tell a true story and the reactions have lasting effects, that's what validates the need for the book to be written. I am a daughter of the King, the wife of a wonderful husband, a mother of 3 exceptional men and a grandmother of 4 girls. I was the Assistant District Governor for SE OK and NE TX Rotary International 2019-2020. I am a health insurance specialist for Kevin Cory, State Farm Insurance where we have reached Million Dollar Roundtable 5 years in row. I taught art at Goodland Christian Academy and Goodland public school for 9 years. I have painted murals at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene and two in Hugo, OK. I have been a member of many Christian denominations and I have built production sets for Vacation Bible Schools, Christmas musicals and Easter musicals. I have been a volunteer mission worker with World Changers. When I was Rotary President 2014-2016 our club was awarded the highest Rotary District honor.
