How do you know if God was involved in an incident? There would be no other way it could have happened if He wasn’t.
My husband and I are on the prayer team at our church. We serve on different Sundays of the month, no rhyme or reason as to when because we are out of town a lot in this season of our lives. The prayer team consists of one man, one woman and couples praying for people who have needs at the end of the church service. The lights are low and the music is loud. We have to listen closely to the prayer requests for them to be heard. If you haven’t been on a prayer team it isn’t for the faint of heart, some needs are hard to hear and fervent prayer is needed.
The request that started the orchestration happened on a Sunday over three months ago. A gentleman came down to the front of the church with tears in his eyes. He said his son had been battling cancer for several years and was in the hospital and not doing well. My husband and I each prayed earnest prayers to God for complete healing and we came against the devil’s attack on this young man’s life in Jesus name. When we finished the man looked at us in belief that this may be the time and thanked us. It gave me the chills.
I added the young man to my daily prayer list. Not giving into any waver of him not being healed and whole. As I was praying three weeks ago before church on the day we were to be on the team again I prayed . “Lord, I don’t know if I should still be praying for this boy, I don’t even know if this boy is alive. Wouldn’t be wonderful if he walked down the aisle healed?” I immediately said “Oh, that’s a bold prayer, Lord, sorry.” Not wanting to put God to the test.
We went to church in the usual fashion, worship was good, the service was good and then we went down front at the end. I prayed “God help me to focus and pray specifically for the need for the person that’s to come down.”
In the shadows a young man with a cowboy hat on was slowly making his way down. Not from ale ment but seemingly from restraint. I could see either he didn’t have hair or it was cut very short. A man was coming behind him but we didn’t recognize him. I asked the boy his need. He said “I have had cancer and the doctors want me to go through one more treatment to make sure they got it all. I am asking for strength.”
I asked him by name if he was the boy I had been praying for because I had never met him and he said “Yes, Ma’am.”
My husband and I rejoiced with such excitement that I am sure it caught the young man off guard. We then recognized his father standing there grinning from ear to ear and shaking his head yes. We gathered ourselves and prayed again for the young man and prayed he would have a long life to tell of God’s miraculous healing to him. His father answered “Yes” in joyful agreement. We hugged and went our separate ways.
At lunch and several times during that day my husband and I cried reliving the occasion and marveled as to why God would reveal to us His work through us.
What a God, what a God only He could have orchestrated the perfect timing that took place.
